Our History
The Early Years
The story of Eid Ibrahim Al-Sharif is deeply rooted in the history of modern Jordan. Born in Al-Dhuleil in 1908, he devoted his life to reclaiming land and transforming agriculture into the backbone of the nation's growth. In the early 1930s, at a time when the Jordan Valley was harsh, underdeveloped, and lacking even the simplest necessities of life, Eid Al-Sharif envisioned opportunity. With determination and patience, he began reclaiming lands from the southern Shouneh through to the A true pioneer, he established model farms in Um Al-Wattad and across the eastern Jordan Valley. These were not merely commercial enterprises, they quickly became renowned reference points for agricultural innovation and best practices throughout Jordan. Their success drew widespread attention, leading to frequent visits from foreign and Arab delegations eager to study our methods.
Legacy and Innovation
His vision was never limited to local practices. Eid Al-Sharif sought knowledge abroad, drawing on expertise from Turkey, Lebanon, and other countries, and introduced modern farming methods and equipment to Jordan at a time when agricultural offices were rare. His efforts raised productivity, enabled exports to neighboring Arab countries, and reduced dependence on imported goods. His overarching vision seamlessly integrated economic empowerment with scientific agriculture and a deep commitment to the land.
In recognition of his leadership and service, he was appointed as a member of the Jordanian National Union Council in 1973. Beyond his public service, his personal legacy was defined by generosity, resilience, and profound contributions to nation-building. Today, this legacy lives on through his grandson, Ali Al-Sharif, who has been entrusted with managing these historic farms. Ali is also the founder of Jordaneeds, a company specializing in exporting high-quality food and frozen goods. Leveraging Jordan's central location in the MENA region, Jordaneeds ensures competitive pricing and adherence to international standards. With a mission to be a trusted partner in delivering quality products, Jordaneeds envisions tripling its production output and expanding into new food lines within the next five years, all while maintaining the family's foundational principles.
